In this Khutba the Sheikh speaks about the command of Allah to lower the gaze from looking at the opposite gender. This ruling has been forgotten as now-a-days there are many mix social gatherings in which this command is violated. May Allah guide us all to follow the commandments of Allah and the sunnah of the noble Prophet (sallallahu alyhe wa sallam). Khutba given after the very controversial 2 Eid-ul-Fitr days celebrated in Houston and in the West. The Shaikh discusses the different opionions regarding the sighting of the Hilal/Crescent for beginning & end of the Hijri months (especially Ramadan & Duhl-Hijjah). He brings references from the Quran & Sunnah and derives rational approach to this contentious issue, especially for those living in Western countries. He also points to the use of accurate astronomical data in helping determine the posibility of sighting the Hilal. We use it to derive the exact time for all of our 5 prayers then why not take help in this issue.

Khutba starts with v.33 from Surah Muhammad and is regarding a new bid'ah (newly invented matter in the religion) that has recently started in America and is spreading to many Masajids. It is the bid'ah of having 2, 3 or more khutbas in the same Masjid either for Jumuah or Eid. When a sunnah is not followed it opens door for new innovations which are not part of Islam. Excerpt: "In this Ayah, Allah (swt) tells about the intention of a person that if he has intended anything with Ikhlas - with purity of neyah but then he is unable to achieve it then he will be rewarded in full… his reward will not be diminished or decreased if intention is good. And explanation of this idea is given in hadith "All the deeds intend upon intention." Meaning the reward will be given according to the intention of a person. For the acceptance of any good deed two things must be present if any of them is missing good deed is not accepted by Allah. 1) Purity of intention and 2) It must be according to the Sunnah - not according to your own wish…" Version:Filesize: 7.81 MB Added on: 04-Sep-2006 Downloads: 3839 Rating: 5.0 (2 Votes) Rate Resource | Details
